Summer Hours - 6:00 am - 4:00 pm  Monday -Thursday

Some of the duties of the department head are to oversee the maintenance, improvement and construction of over 27 square miles of roadways that include 565 lane miles of roadways, upkeep of six city cemeteries, five city parks, and maintenance of Public Works equipment.

The Public Works Department repairs, maintains, paves, ditches, and grades all city roads. They also take care of snow and ice removal.

Various other duties are:

• Replace and Install Culvert Pipes
• Maintain and Replace Street Signs
• Maintain Ditches
• Repair and Install Storm Sewer Lines
• Maintain All Storm Sewer Manholes and Catch Basins
• Traffic Light Maintenance
• Street Sweeping
• Install and Repair Guardrails
• Leaf Pick-Up Program
• Trimming and Picking Up Tree Limbs
